Introduction of All Aluminum Conductor (AAC)
The stranded All Aluminium Conductor(AAC) are made up of concentric-lay-stranded aluminium wires only. The conductor may be made up of 7, 19, 37, 61 or more wires in 1, 2, 3, 4 or more layers around a central wire. Each successive layer shall have six more wires than the layer immediately beneath. For a given cross-sectional area, the conductor becomes more flexible as the number of wires in increased (with a corresponding decrease in size of each wire). When All Aluminium Conductors are to be used in overhead lines,full hard drawn temper wires are used. AAC insulated with XLPE or PVC can also be supplied as per customers’ requirements.

All Aluminium Conductor(AAC) are used in overhead electric power transmission and distribution lines with various voltage levels.AAC are composed by bare concentricstranded aluminum wires with a straight round central aluminum wire surrounded by one or more layers of helicallylayed aluminum wires.

Under the same weight, AAC is with higher DC resistance and lower cost than copper conductor.AAC conductor has been widely used in power transmission lines with various voltage levels, because it has such good characteristics as simple, convenient installation and maintenance, low cost,and large transmission capacity. Moreover, it is also suitable for laying across rivers, valleys and the places where special geographical features exist.
